XHP is Alcad's extra-high-power Ni-Cd cell, combining sintered positive plates, plastic-bonded negative plates and thin separators for very efficient high-rate discharge. It is aimed at vital UPS, engine starting and emergency backup duties that need guaranteed instant power, and is often smaller, lighter and cheaper than lead-acid in high-rate use.
